I know I just put out a review for Knights and Dragons, but this weekend they did a change to their raids, that is now far more difficult to achieve for those that want to be free to play.
The change: increasing raid milestones to include milestones for 50 million points, 80 million, 120 million, and 200 million. While these milestones only include items that can be used to craft the ever elusive shadowforged armor. On top of that, the raid bosses have been scaled up to make it harder to get points for those that only have epic level armor.
The only way to achieve those high level points are by actually buying gems and burning through them to get themselves higher in the milestones, or they have to buy gems to buy the chance chests to get a chance at getting some dragonforged, or they have to buy gems so they can go on a ‘top run’ with a guild so that they can get in the top 30 guilds that get the dragonforged.
Now if this was a one time deal, I would think that that is kind of silly but I think this is a sign of things to come. If Gree continues down this path where it separates those that pay to play and win, and those that are free to play, a lot of people will more than likely start to quit.
My thoughts are this, to fix this situation, dragonforged armor is should now be the new epic level gear, and starting sometime within the next couple weeks, the epic bosses should start being dragonforged bosses. The ‘dragonforged bosses’ wouldn’t be giving set bonus level dragonforged, but instead armor that is similar to when dragonforged just came out. Secondly, top 500 for guild rewards should be dragonforged armors, while epic becomes everything below 500, which this would allow other guilds who are free to play to actually get dragonforged armor and start to stockpile them. Thirdly, Heroic Events need to switch to being dragonforged armors as well.
All in all, if dragonforged armors aren’t more achievable soon, I foresee a lot of people quitting because the game has become far too pay to play.
