I’ve played since Pokemon Red and Blue back in 1998 when I was in third grade on the old GameBoy Pocket and played every new game that had come out from then until Pearl and Black came out. I beat Pearl, got all the Pokemon from my Fire Red and Ruby games brought over and transferred some to Heart Gold as well. But come time for Black, I hit a wall. I just didn’t have the time and couldn’t get it done.

With the 20 years of Pokemon promotion going on, I got myself a new 3DS XL and Alpha Sapphire to download all the legendary Pokemon. When i found out that I could transfer Pokemon from Pearl and Heart Gold I knew I had to beat Black. And so I did. I beat Black last week, I transferred a lot of the Pokemon I had had stored up on Pearl, and even got Sapphire beat.

What I absolutely love about this though, is the fact that I have my original Gourdon from the original Ruby game,  back in 2005 sitting in my Pokemon Bank. While it does say that I caught it in 2007, which was when ‘caught’ data was starting being saved, it is from back before 2007. This makes me excited for Sun and Moon coming out this November, because soon I’ll be able to play the old Red, Blue, and Yellow games, and add those Pokemon to my bank as well and bring them all over to Sun.

I’m really excited for Pokemon over the next several months. I can’t wait to see what the new game brings and so I can bring everything over to that game.
