Dad’s up at 530 again. Temperature dropped a bit over night.
Breakfast was veggie omelette with toast and our walleye from last night.
We head out at about 745 to bassacre bay and notice the wind kicking up pretty good. We go from the mouth to the back of the bay catching a bass and a small pike to bring home. We troll more and don’t catch anything and by noon the waves are now a foot to two feet tall. Dad takes us back to camp to find that we weren’t the only ones saying enough is enough.
While we slept a few storms came through and calmed the lake down quite a bit before dinner.
Dinner was tossed salad with turkey, stuffing, carrots, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Desert was lemon tart.
We head out and hit sucker gut again. The wind has died down and we were able to troll a bit easier than the night before. We catch a couple in the shoal but then head to the channel of sucker gut and start bringing in more. Around 830pm dad says we’ll do another pass but winds up catching a 26 inch walleye. We do a few more passes and catch little fish. As I was reeling in, a baby pike jumped up and went to take my minoe. I jump at the sight not expecting and dad chuckles because I was surprised. 9pm rolls around and we head in with 2 walleye for breakfast and 3 for take home.
Dad heads to sleep and I stay up a little while longer to take advantage of the lodge being open to send texts out to everyone.
