Canada Day 4

Dad and I woke up late at about 615. We headed over for breakfast of pancakes and sausage. There was confusion last night in the fish hut and the dock hands missed a breakfast tag for the guys in Lakeview and thought it was for us. They got fish though as well.

Dad and I headed out at about 8am for Frank’s falls and hit the falls for a while before trolling all the way out and up into Betty’s hole. The whole time it was raining and windy.

We headed into sucker gut again and can’t get anything. Dad finally calls it quits and heads in. Dad gets back to the cabin and tells me he’s been shivering for a while and needs to warm up. He warms up as I update my tablet from the wifi at Joe’s cabin and then talk to some of the folks at the dock.

Dinner rolls around and we have a kale soup, with pork lion and roasted vegetables. Desert was an apple cake. Mom asks for the recipe but Dad says don’t bother because he wasn’t a fan.

We head out to wolf island at about 630pm and Dad catches a breakfast walleye, a 19 and a 20 inch by 830 rolls around. I can tell dad’s cold but he won’t say anything. We head in and watch Dave and his son Chris fish off the dock and catch more fish in 20minutes than we did in the 2 hours we were in the boat.
