So on September 14, 2019, I started re-downloading Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Last log in for me and most of my guild was back in 2016, if not even into 2015.
I logged back in, my characters for the most part were there, some needed to have a name change, but nothing a quick flick of the fingers couldn’t handle.
First major issue: missing some textures and parts of floors. Me thinking that it would load in a minute, Nope. I fall to my death and respawn. I notice my pants on my character are purple, versus a gray and black. I head to my guilds capital ship and load in. A pair of what I thought were supposed to be Sith Fighters where glowing green orbs of death flying by my ship. I load in, and I can’t move. I look around and the game thinks I’m on the ship itself. Do a few /stucks but to no avail. I log out and look up to fix this. Most posts I see say delete the bitraider folder.
Fix: Delete the bitraider folder after downloading game and launcher closed out. After you delete it, re-open launcher, and it will re-download everything and fix the issue.
I tinkered around, went to some old locations thinking I was going to be able to do stuff, but had to log off to go do adulting.
I did wind up logging on one night and playing with a few of the old members of the guild, but only to play the Kuat Drive Yards flashpoint, which as I remembered was a pain in the butt. I logged off that night thinking I’d be back again.
It’s now December and I haven’t logged back in to SWTOR.
Am I okay with that? I guess. The game is still to simple. Gone are the old trees, and advantages each class had. But in the end, it’s Star Wars. The games have a tendor spot in my heart that will forever stay. Someday I will be back to SWTOR full time, but that day is not now.
