The day was exceptionally windy, and cold, and cloudy. We expected rain at any point but it never came but either way dad and I were in out rain paints and survival jackets all day. We came in early about 1pm without realizing how cold we were until we got in the cabin. After dinner the waves were choppy and the wind seemed to have picked up. We tried some places that seemed like we would catch fish since it was in the current but the chop was too much for us. We went to grandpas favorite spot, old eagle island, were we spent the rest of the night catching small bass and walleye. Dad caught a nice 24. I got a nice 27 off the point after casting in. The conversation between dad and I is as follows.
“Uh Dad?” Line peels from reel.
“Yeah? Snag, fish, what do you got?” Line peels a lot and moves around. “Oh. Steady pressure son.”
“You going to get him?”
“I can’t see him.”
“He’s right there.”
“Where?”
“Take your glasses off.”
“Oh.” Nets fish.
