Another game that I have been playing a lot out of lately. Star Wars is something that I love and Galaxy of Heroes fits the bill for a great game.
I’m not going to lie, but I suck. I suck at this game because I don’t know every characters ability and all I do is hit auto to automate everything for me and I just select who I want my team to focus on. There’s an actual strategy involved with all the characters but I haven’t learned it yet.
I’m at max level, which has been tough to do since I wound up taking multiple breaks and just never continuously play every day like I am now. Currently the level cap is 85.
The game centers around you collecting characters from the world of Star Wars and creating the best teams, fives characters to a team, to accomplish everything in the game. You have cantina battles that take your cantina energy to do, but also take alot longer to gain energy back. You have light and dark side battles that take your regular energy. But then you have the squad arena to go head to head against other opponents, the challenges, events, ships, galactic war, mod battles and challenges, and guilds.
You also have your daily quests that make you do a little bit of everything that’s involved with the game.
Your characters can go up to 85 but with each character they have specific roles, like tank, attacker, support, and healer. Each role has a different gear set that you have to acquire through grinding through many runs in battles. The characters can be brought to a maximum of seven stars, the higher the star, the higher that character’s stats are. Each character has their own abilities that you can increase through grinding out ability materials. On top of this, they have mods that can increase specific stats that each character has.
With the light and dark side battles, you have your 5 character squad of side specific against the AI, in either normal or hard battles. Normal battles are best for getting gear, while hard battles you can attempt 3 times a day. The game replenishes this energy quickly, but the game also gives you energy refills 3 times during the course of the day.
Cantina battles focuses on taking a team that is has no restrictions on light or dark, and going through all the battles. These battles help gain you ability materials and shards to get your character up in star power or to unlock them. The game regenerates this energy slower, but also gives you a one time refill throughout the course of a day.
Mod battles and mod challenges take the same energy as the cantina battles so you have to decide on where you want to spend the energy for the day. Complete mod battles so you can unlock mod challenges, so that you can get the highest tier mods available. The mod challenges are faction specific, so one is strictly for Jawas, another for Jedi, and so on and so forth.
Challenges are ways you can get ability materials, credits, and training droids, as well as specific gear for your different role specific characters. You get all of the challenges to three star and you unlock multi-sim, which allows you to just hit the button and get materials.
The squad arena is pretty self-explanatory, where your best team goes against other players’ teams and try to go higher up for better rewards.
The galactic war is a different beast in itself. There are twelve nodes for this, broken into fourths. It starts out relatively easy but at the third node of each fourth it’s progressively harder. Now the even hardest part of this challenge, is that one a character “dies” you can’t use it again until you restart the war. This is why strategy wise you need to have multiple teams ready to take this challenge on.
Ships is something that came out within the last year, and has it’s own little room where you have fleet battles against other players, ship challenges, to get ship shards for the capital ships, ship currency, ship training droids, and ship ability materials. There is a catch with that ship ability materials challenge, the last challenge gives you a material that is used on your characters’ abilities known as the zeta material. That zeta material is the only available in that challenge and for 2000 fleet currency.
Guilds are self-explanatory again, but with your guild you can do two raids, which are epic battles against an enemy with all your guild mates. These raids consume a maximum of five teams a day, and once a team is “dead” you can’t use it again until the next day.
Now there is the normal shops for this game, where you spend your crystals on chances to get shards, or materials, as well as buy more crystals in the shop. There’s also shops for spending credits, cantina currency, fleet currency, squad currency, guild currency, galactic war currency, buy mods for credits or crystals, and last but not least buy shards of characters with left over shards of characters you got to seven star.
All in all, this game has a lot to do. Hope you like the introduction I gave it for you all, and stay tuned for more posts on Galaxy of Heroes.
